Burning Bright

An old scifi novel, it’s in the Shadowrun setting so really you’ll only ever find used copies, if you manage to find a copy at all, these days, alas. It was the first novel that got me into that setting when I was younger, full of science fiction and fantasy and interesting social commentary. Unfortunately, the writing quality didn’t really hold up so well upon reading now that I’m older, but it wasn’t the worst I’ve run into in that regard. It’s still an amazing setting, which carries a lot, and the plot is certainly unique (Chicago being overrun by insectile spirits and cordoned off by the military), just, the characters and flow of writing could use some work.
